Graves County 24-Hour Release Limits
Graves County does not publish a verified list made up only of people released during the past day. The official jail inmate gateway leads to the BlueHorse vendor interface. That interface offers Current Inmates, Past Inmate, and a control labeled Books 24hr. The label matters. Research on the interface found recent results with blank release dates as well as a record with a dated release. It can surface fresh booking activity, but it cannot be renamed or treated as an official release feed.
A released-person check starts after the recent result appears. Open the matching booking and look for a populated Release Date. Compare the book date, booking number, birth date, arrest agency, and case data so a namesake is not mistaken for the person sought. Then inspect Farm-Out Location. Graves County houses secure detainees in receiving jails, including Christian County under a documented agreement. A transfer out of the local display can end one custody entry without returning the person to the community.
Check Graves County Same-Day Releases
The safest process ties each claim to one booking. It also separates a local jail exit from a state-prison discharge. The BlueHorse screen is useful for the local booking, while Kentucky DOC Daily Releases covers state offenders and omits many ordinary local bond-outs and short county stays.
- Enter through the official jail gateway and open BlueHorse for Graves County.
- Use Books 24hr only to locate recent activity, or search Past Inmate with a narrow name and date range.
- Open the correct booking and require a populated Release Date before calling it a release.
- Read Farm-Out Location, bond status, charge disposition, and court fields for signs of transfer or continuing control.
- Check Kentucky VINE for a matching not-in-custody event, then call the Graves Jailer when the result is urgent or inconsistent.
- Request the booking/release sheet when a durable record of the actual time, authority, and destination is needed.
Public systems need not update together. A court may enter a bond or discharge order before staff finish release processing. VINE may record an event after the physical exit, and the vendor screen does not publish an update schedule. Note the source and time of each check. A precise statement about what each source displayed is stronger than a broad claim based only on roster absence.
Graves County Recent-Booking Fields
The public detail can hold far more than a name. Not every field is filled in every Graves County booking, and no one field should be read outside its booking context.
| Field | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Full name and birth date | Identity clues that help separate people with similar names. |
| Booking number and Book Date | The specific custody entry and when it began. |
| Release Date | A recorded end to that booking when populated, not a guarantee of community release. |
| Farm-Out Location | A receiving jail or transfer location that may still hold the person. |
| Bond status | Type, agency, amount, and status shown for the booking. |
| Charge and court panels | Charge code, disposition, case number, court date, room, or hearing type when present. |
| Photo or placeholder | A booking image may load, but a generic image can appear instead. |
The public detail does not necessarily state the full release authority, exact physical exit time, or whether another agency assumed custody. Ask for the existing booking/release sheet to resolve those points. A Release Date paired with a Farm-Out Location needs special care because Graves County has a split legal and physical custody structure.
Graves County Release Record Fallbacks
Because there is no clean same-day feed, the fallback chain is part of the normal lookup. Call the Graves County Jail and Restricted Custody Center at 270-247-9829 for a time-sensitive question. Staff may limit what they disclose, but the Jailer is the proper custodian for jail-created booking and release records. The Sheriff is not the default custodian for those jail records.
A written request can identify the person, approximate admission and release dates, and booking number. Ask for the existing booking/release sheet, actual release date and time, release type or authority, destination or transfer agency, farm-out facility, bond or court reference, and final local custody status. The jail accepts signed and dated requests by mail at ATTN Open Records Request, Graves County Jail, 150 South Jenkins Street, Mayfield, KY 42066, or by fax at 270-247-9856. Posted office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central, Monday through Friday except legal holidays. The posted response period is five business days beginning with the next business day, and ordinary copies cost ten cents per page with prepayment.
Kentucky VINE supplies a separate event check. Search both a local-jail record and a DOC record if both exist. For a state offender, use KOOL and the Kentucky DOC Daily Releases archive. A PDF row gives DOC number, name, type of release, released-from facility, and felony class. It does not cover every Graves County local release.
Graves County Release or Transfer
Current Inmates answers a present-roster question. Past Inmate preserves booking history and can display a release date. Neither view alone proves where the person went. In Graves County, the Jailer may remain custodian of the legal booking while Christian County or another western Kentucky jail is the physical custodian. A populated local release date may also be followed by DOC intake, an immigration detainer, home incarceration, or another hold.
- Release
- The end of a specific custody entry, which may lead to the community or another legal status.
- Farm-out
- Housing a Graves County detainee at another jail. It is not community release.
- Detainer
- A request or hold from another authority that may continue custody after the local entry ends.
- Discharge
- The end of a sentence or supervision term under the controlling authority.
For a named-person search across systems, the Graves County released inmate lookup explains the full route. The wider three-day page is useful when the exact day is uncertain, but it also requires booking-level confirmation.
Note: A person still shown on a current roster has not been verified as released, while an absent name may reflect transfer or data lag.
Graves County Bond-Out Timing
The official Graves County bond page separates courthouse and after-hours payment. The courthouse handles bond business from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. When it is closed, cash and surety bonds may be paid at the jail, with exact cash required. The page describes release on recognizance, surety, unsecured, partially secured, and property bonds. If no preset bond applies, Pretrial Services interviews the person within 24 hours.
Bond-out means physical release subject to the pending case. It does not dismiss a charge or settle the later court result. Match the bond entry to the actual Release Date and, when needed, the signed court order. Posted booking, bond-service, and room-and-board fees have no published amounts, so current figures must be requested rather than guessed.
Why Graves Release Data Misleads
BlueHorse makes historical search unusually accessible, but observed depth is not a retention promise. Some visible records date back years. The vendor gives no formal retention period or update cadence. A missing old booking can reflect spelling, alias use, data migration, sealing, expungement, disaster damage, or a different custodian. It cannot settle the custody question.
The Books 24hr label is the most important local quirk. It describes books, not confirmed releases. Blank release dates found in its output show why each detail must be opened. For three days of activity, use the Graves County 72-hour release process and reconcile adjacent dates rather than stretching the 24-hour control.
Graves County Release App Check
No official Graves jailer or sheriff inmate-lookup mobile app was verified. The official path is the mobile-responsive jail gateway and BlueHorse site. An app called Graves Mobile is an unrelated ordering product and must not be treated as a county tool. Official jail or Sheriff social pages may post news or photos, but they are not release ledgers and cannot confirm every same-day exit.
Use social posts only as leads back to the booking, jail record, court order, VINE event, or state record. This distinction protects against stale posts and partial accounts. The legal release event belongs to the agency record, not a social timeline. Record the official source and time checked.
Source timing is part of verification. Keep the matching booking number with each saved release note.
